Is it an airbag or non airbag steering wheel?

NON Airbag:

Remove the center cover, and I believe it's either a T50 or a T55 torx bit required for the bolt in the middle. Make sure you get the right one and ensure it's a snug fit, you don't want to round it off!

Then, remove the key and 'lock' the steering wheel, and this will enable you to undo and remove the bolt.

Then, sit back in your seat and grab the wheel and give it a rock from side to side. You might have to pull quite hard for it to come off, so don't smack yourself in the face!

Airbag:

Find a torx bit which fits in the two torx bolts on the rear of the steering wheel (look for the two little holes). You may need to turn the wheel to gain access to them. Once undone, the bolts won't fall out, so don't worry about that. This allows you to gently pull the airbag unit forwards. With the battery disconnected, remove the orange plug from the airbag unit (BE CAREFUL!). Set this aside once removed. You may now remove the centre bolt in the steering wheel. Upon removal, there's another cable at the rear of the steering wheel which connects to a loom around the steering column. Make sure you disconnect this too, before you yank it off.

Re-fitting is the above in reverse.

I didn't think they fitted airbags in the Williams? Just 16v's.

Don't hold me to this though?

It will be a non-airbag on a williams.

Don't remove the bolt completely.
Leave it in a couple of threads before pulling the wheel, this will stop you getting a face-full!

There is a big nylock nut in the early Williams instead of torx bit.
