I want one too, but my main concern is insurance, apparently NFU will insure you wiht a cage, not got a quote tho, most other companies wo't touch you with a barge pole.

Think when i was speaking to him at FCS it was around £500 to supply and fit a 6 point cage, but honestly can't remember, could be way off....

Contrary to popular belief a roll cage can make a car more dangerous if not fitted using the proper MSA guidelines.

There are minimum distances that need to be maintained between the drivers head and sidebars etc. Which we follow.

Our favourite cages are the Safety Devices ones which in general are a tad more expensive to buy, but much better quality than Sparco and OMP. They are simply made more accurately and take less fitting time in general as less spacing is needed to make the cages fit.

For reference about the best company we have found for insuring cars with cages is Graham Sykes Insurance on 0845 1300 231.

Have you tried contacting SD? If your desperate you may be better off going for a Sparco or OMP (in that order) instead of waiting for SD to relaunch. I was sure they were still trading though.

Even then , the usual wait is around 6 weeks shipping for a Clio cage as nobody stocks them off the shelf. We have fitted a few cages from a local supplier who does mostly Escort stuff and they do seem very good but I dont know if he has done 1 for a Clio before. I can ask if needs be?
