Told Jill her pads were 90% worn on her last service about 10k ago, come to change them today and they still have about 5mm of friction material left on them, they have 11mm on from new, so only about 60% worn.

Oh and pads cost £40 from them(trade prices) and they charge £100-£110 to change pads at the front, so around £70 labour/profit!

Yeah i was gonna change them but there is no need yet, only 60% worn

ye they told me my pads were over 50% worn...i cleaned all my breaks 2day and found that theres LOADS left on my pads!!!

It's their most common line. A very easy way to make money. I was told mine were 80% worn and th discs warped on my dci. Knowing I could do it myself I said to leave it.

Bought that pads knowing the discs weren't warped and hey ho they weren't even 50% worn.

Well service before they she was told they were 60% worn, and now 90% worn

Renault said my first set were 80% worn which was about right first time.
Second ime they sais my pds were 90% worn and didn't want to give me the kes until I told them I had a new set in the car. They were definatly right about 90% worn though they were down to the metal when I changed them.
