I have been busy over winter replacing broken parts, fitting new rear calipers/disc/pads, front disc/pads, painting and tiding up various bits under bonnet and underneath the car. Just last week I had the rear arches repaired as they were the usual rusty mess, the guy had to weld a 6ins plate in the drivers side it was that fooked!

Yesterday morning I had a play with the car getting it ready for its MOT that afternoon. The car has been off the road since Sept but its pretty tidy but never the less I check and double checked everything worked etc etc. I had to put the spare on as the front tyres as pretty fooked but all check out ok, infact it was so good the Williams 3 passed with NO ADVISORIES!! I'm happy as :D :D :D :D

Now I'm shopping for insurance so I can start to enjoy the car. Adrian Flux wanted £365 so did another company but today I was quoted very happy with Peter Best for £174! Double happiness!!

So as from Friday I'm legal and road worthy!! yeahhhhhhhh :D :D

Cheers lads!

I have my tax disc and I'm off to work today in the Willy, shame its only 7 miles to work down dual carrage ways, maybe I should go the scenic route :P This will be the first outing since last October.

Isnt Peter Best classics only?

Kitkat

Some of the insurance companies classify the Williams as a classic. There are also some policies out there for future classics!

Glad you got a good deal Kate! They were miles cheaper for me too.

The first day in the Williams went really well. This afternoon one of my work buddies challenged me to a drag race. He has a Fiesta ST and thinks its the dogs bolox. At first I played him down as I didnt wanna thrash the Willy so soon after getting it back on the road, plus I said I would paste him anyway! Anyway within minutes we had gone off to a dual carrageway and rolled upto a set of red lights. After a brief wait the lights changed and you guessed it........I passed the 1/4mile ish marker (a 50MPH sign) before the ST, infact I must have been at least 3 car lenghts in front.

After peeling off the carrageway we hit a couple of left handers where the Willy cocked its back wheel and gripped like mad to the tarmac, meanwhile in my r/view mirror the ST was understeering which made me chuckle! His excuse was that he had a heavy sub/amp in the boot and a full tank of fuel!! LOL

I have also had a nice 60mile drive tonight and I'm loving it!!

Well ive looked on their website now and can only fiind that the car has to be between 26-30yrs old, theyll only insure over 25's and no mods,so how do you guys manage with the age of the car because no Williams is even 26yrs old?

Also does Bass_Direct now own a williams as if its the turbo then thats classed as modification?

Just looking into getting insurance now but as you know mines a dirty hybrid :P
