Front Calipers - are they unique to Williams or fitted to other models (ie:172).
Would like to re-frub mine and be easier to do with a 'spare' set although BiggRed looks like a good option. Anyone used them??
Thanks,
Simon.

They are the same as fitted to lower spec models on the mk2's, the 172 ones are bigger.

thanks Mat,
..... so do 172 fit straight on a Williams and is it worthwhile change?

It's a worthwhile upgrade but not a straight swap.
Think you need the hubs too, but the splines are different on the driveshaft so you would need to swap the centres/bearings.

I'm considering using bigredd to do my callipers too. I thought about whether just to buy a new set from gsf as it would work out cheaper but then I wouldn't get the nice polycote finish.

Thanks again Mat - um that's sounds quite a big change, so I'll stick with what I've got and re-frub them.
RD - hadn't thought about buying a new pair - will look into this. Ta

Are you 100% sure about that Mat?
So to put 172 brakes on you'd need to:
- Swap the hubs for 172 items and replace the bearings with valver/willy items
- Bolt the 172 caliper directly to the hub
- Use valver driveshafts and bolt to hubs
- Use 172 discs and pads
Bosh?
Ah but then 172 hubs wouldn't bolt straight to Willy shocks would they?
