Up a tenner for a Williams, or ~5%, so about what you would expect I guess. I'm just glad that they did not meddle with the max rate for cars pre-2006 as cars newer than that with the same CO2 output as I have are £460 per year!
Kinda expected this really.

dont notice the difference there. my 172 is after 2001 so my 12 month tax is...£235 shocking!
6 months was a £112.75 robbing bastards!

and where does it go? definitely not on the roads!
Luckily it was in my company car, but the other week i hit a mega pot-hole by accident and have slattened the rims of both my front wheels.
if it was my car i would have to replace 2 alloys because of that!
Not sure this will make you feel any better. Our loving Members of parilament decided in 2009 to declare war on any vehicle above 1.2 cc.
Due to the age and co2 matter of my willy i pay 531 euros a year
If you have lets say a BMW330I you would pay 295 and that goes up by 75 to 100 a year then on maxing out at the highest of 1350 euro a year after 10 years.
Their excuse is so people buy more enviromently friendly cars and smaller engines.
Did it work, did it f***. last year alone 450 bmw's over 2.0 were imported the avergae cc being 1.6. on any car.
Sucks but that's the way were going i guess.
compared to many other countries and indeed other motoring costs, our VED is quite reasonable imo
and a penny off the 3 pence they put on in january.. laughable
