Hi Guys,

Car was fine yesterday.

This morning started it, put it in gear and will not move!

Tried 1st, 2nd, 3rd and reverse. Nothing!

Lookin in the engine bay, in nuetral the neardise drive shaft is rotating very slowly.

I therefore assume that the drive shaft had gone at the outer side.....there had been a rumbling on tha side in the last couple of moths when turning left. It is one of those things I was going to look at, but have not had the time.

I am now without a car which is very frustrating!

Any idea's?

I just want to make sure it is not the gearbox that has gone.

Thanks

Does the speedo rise when you put it in gear and release the clutch?

If you have jack the front up off the ground and started car, and the nearside spins in neutral but offside does not, sorry to say you probably have a shagged box/diff.

First though, would check drivers driveshaft.

Paddy did this. He'd snapped the shaft clean off.

Worth a look

hi guys, thanks for input

hub nut spun easily so was preety sure that the drive shaft had snapped.

jacked it up and it has.

snapped clean just before CV boot!

anyone have a spare drive shaft?

i doubdt i can get it from ECP as this one will not be able to be refurbed in return....if that is how it works.

ECP dont do them anymore.

I had a place that did them but can't find it for some reason now.

I posted it on here somewhere.

You can use a valver one and a spacer (or some washers) if you are stuck, although if its a genuine williams you obviously want to then find the proper one to go back on.
