View Full Version : oil for rebuild F7R engine
hello, need advice:
what kind of oil you recommended to use with new rebuild engine
10W.. ? or maby 5W.. ??
what type ??
what been replaced in the rebuild
rings, bearing shells, orings, valves, valve seals, machined crank and cylinder bush. almost everyting what you can replace due rebuild.
usually run the first 500 miles on a decent mineral oil ..Then use a decent semi synthetic oil for the next 1000 miles at least in my opinion though i usually run it for 5000 miles ..
then run a fully synthetic from then on..
usually drop the oil at 500 miles then every 3000..
as for type usually run 15/40
lots of engine braking for the first 100 to help the rings bed in

I normally use Valvoline oils unless i'm buying from renault. However I've just discovered Millers have launched a budget brand called Falcon (to not devalue the "Millers" name. It's millers oil, in a differently labeled bottle.
