The dreaded rusty arches

Hi all. After a few years in the wilderness I'm thinking of getting another williams. I share some jap rubbish with my housemate for trackdays so got a 405 td estate as day to day transport :oops: . Not good enough so am considering buying a cheap williams that needs some tlc.

I did a quick search but couldn't find anything and so was wondering what people paid to get arches sorted and did it last? All the cheap ones have rusty arches and while I am okay with a spanner bodywork is a bit too time consuming so I want to know what to expect.

Had one arch done 12 months ago and it's holding out. They did that and a bubble under the rear 3/4 window for £150.

Just had a look at a williams locally that is cheap but needs a lot of work, not sure if it fits in with all the other projects though.

i was going to ask for some more direct links but you're easy to spot on account of only using 3 wheels and having JAN in big letters painted on your car. Hope you haven't washed it off. Photos look cool, I've put another post up because I saw my old clio on the anglesey pics! Right thats it the williams commuter/shopping vehicle plan is go. Managed to break my wrist riding in france last weekend so might slow me down a bit but the hunt is on...

sounds cool but broke me wrist so plaster for 3 months! :cry: Will come and heckle/tell you you're not trying hard enough through craner. If its dry should be flat for you (but not for mooseman)...

Shame as wav has sorted the fd problems out, just needs a decent map and should be sweet.

Apparently the only way to 100% get rid of rust for good is to vut the rusty metal outand re weld in new metal, not cheap, but a proper job

and get it undersealed VERY VERY well.. no bodge job on the sealing - cus' that's what brings the rust back.
