i need insurance for like a month on the willy any decent places you guys know of? also im only 24 which is causing a problem. this wasnt a problem 2 yrs ago but they've changed the rules and stopped alot of short term policies!! grr
quite a lot of ins companies do classic ins. as he said, no ncb needed, none earned. but MUST have another policy on another car for them to be valid.

That's very cheap! I used to live only a few hundred yards from their office and never thought of going in there for a car quote - I'll definitely be popping in to chat to them when my renewal comes up!

you told them it was standard didnt you ya little tinker!! :P
they e-mailed me today and said NO because im under 25 and it has a none standard exhaust and filter....i didnt bother mentioning the other things as i know it was going to be a no go....
i'm gunna give it up till im 25, it can stay in the barn rotting..
Tom, you can insure it if you want though other insurers you know. Put it on very limited mileage and have a high excess, though sometimes the excess make no odds.
i see peter best do a multicar car type of policy???? could be handy for me!!!
is this right????
just done a quote for the williams 5k miles a year
£204.58 and they dont take into account your no claims???
also done a quote for the cabriolet and came back
£169.60 on 5k miles a year...... surely cant be right?????
so in theory i could do both at the same time???? and do they do policies in monthly installments?

i think mate, you need to have another car on a full policy before you can take out a classic policy??? thats how it was explained to me last time i asked about 1.
i.e. can have a classic policy where they dont take ncb into account, as long as you have another policy running 3rd party fully comp on another vehicle.
sounds better everytime!!!
had my renewal thru with admiral on the multicar policy, and its £650 for both cars. saving a massive £62 on last year!!!
so as 2live says.....
ive found a fully comp policy on the cabriolet with 9 years NCD for £190.00
and then take a classic policy out on the williams limited to 5K a year miles for £204.00
making that £394.00 instead of admirals £650.00.... making a yearly saving of £256.00 a year!! and there was me thinking insurance had gone up! 8)
rang them and sorted it! you dont have to have a proper full policy running. but they dont take your NCD into a classic policy. but if after 2 years you dont use your NCD that you have built up you lose it :( .
so ive insured the cabriolet for £210.32 (thats including the interest as paying by installments) using my 9 years NCD on a proper policy with another company.
and insured the williams for £222.63 (including interest as paying by installments) with 5K mileage on a classic policy with peter best
£432.95 in total!!!
instead of admirals £650.00
so ive saved £217.05 a year! bloody chuffed with that!!! :D 8)
