View Full Version : Thermostat
I've just got a 1995 Williams 3 and it seems to take a long time to warm up, driving for 15 minutes before the temp gauge is moving - is this normal or do I need to check the thermostat? No problem with over heating but I haven't seen a summer yet.
Could well be the thermostat, yes. Easy enough to replace, just watch out for rounding off the thermohousing bolts. They seem to always round off!

f7r engine is a large lump to warm up,in this cold weather mine does take time but i have changed my thermostat as a precaution after my head gasket failed in november!
Its cheap and easy to do, so worth replacing if in doubt. Just remember to use compatible coolant to refill it and some silicone sealant on the thermohousing when putting it back on :)
Oh, and remember which way round it goes ;)
