You wont make the money you spend on the work back from the price you sell it after.

Cost of work will more than likely be greater than the value of the vehicle at time of sale.

If car costs £3000 and work costs £1500 you wont get £4500 back on it.

Without doubt they are a labour of love not an investment. Unless you still own a mint example in the year 2030.

Everyone above is right I'm afraid. Its impossible to make money on these cars. Re-sale values are rock bottom.

So if the car was under a grand body work might be 500 quid and I work for Renault so bits aren't to bad and labour is free what money are we talking to sell

Best bet is to look at current examples here, and on places like pistonheads, for prices.

Must depend how far out you are looking? The current selling prices are ridiculously low for a car widely acclaimed as the best of its breed, ever. My Dad talks about sports cars he had in his day - TR2s, TR3s, Mini Coopers, etc. that were all bought for peanuts then and are all pretty decent money now.

As stated above, in 2030 these cars are going to be worth a whole lot more than they are today, but realistically, how many are going to keep them in great condition until then?

That would certainly put you in a better postition to make it an investment, if it was me, I'd be looking to do the same thing on a Williams over a Williams 3

I wouldn't want to guess at the potential margins, but they're still not going to be massive.

Actually...if you look at prices of good quality Williams's over on the continent, you'll see they are creeping up, some being big money now if low mileage.

I plan on keeping mine for a very long time.

I've looked at the prices of many Williams most ranging from 1500-3300
They are very few and fair between. I was after a 172 to do it to as I just fancied doing
A bit of work and earning some money .
I seen the Williams and thought it would be good to put back right
Thanks for your reply
