Mocal Oil Cooler Kits Rubber or Braided Hoses

Thinking about getting a mocal 13 row oil cooler with the thermostat built in to the sandwhich plate but i am unsure weather to upgrade to braided items or just go with the rubber hoses.

Obviously the bradided ones look nicer and maybe a bit stronger but i worried that the braided hoses will chew everything in its path.

Please give your opinions of what set ups you are running.

I use a remote filter head with water cooling , found works a lot better than air oil coolers oil temp is rock solid even on really hot days when compared to coolers that need air passing over them plus oil filter is much , much easier to change. This isnt to be confused with the standard williams one its totally different and have compared to other cars using air coolers and is still much more iffecient. Just my opinion plus dont need to find anywhere to mount cooler at front of car it just fits by the battery on the top hose.

I too was thinking about the oil cooler option as I generally do Le Mans style runs down the continent when I get the urge.
Had a couple of concerns rgd the fitment of the additional rad and pipes. To be honest I did not want to go fooking about because in my view it increases the chance of something going wrong and if you spring a leak we know the consequences. Plus I noticed a lot of peeps fit them and then get rid of them shortly afterward. Not sure why?

Andrew..the water cooled option is there an instruction/diagram to show what is required to fit one? Does it cost as much as the air cooled version?

Not sure on cost because it was on the car when I bought it , Northy may be able to help there as he was around for the build of my engine, would imagine it would be a lot more than air / oil cooler. but honestly cant praise it enough I can sit on the line at a race meeting in boiling hot sunshine with no worries. I will try to get more info when I can :wink:
