It is all down to the condition at the end of the day but £500 is a good price.

i hasnt been going since it was parked and with the plate missing i would have thought that 500 was abit much.

any car with no mot is worth only the scrap price or
what someone is willing to pay for it in my books .

If it had a plaque than 500, as it doesnt im sorry but spares or repairs value as its the plaque that makes them worth anything tbh

I am sure I saw a guy on ebay making replica plaques? didnt somebody on here get them as well. might be worth trying the search facility.

Buying a w1 for 500 is one thing.. getting it immaculate and 100% mechanical could cost another 2k easily if it needs paint/wheel refurb/ tyres/ brakes/ clutch/ cambelt/ gearbox etc.

and then you would still have a car with chequered history, personally i think to buy something like this as a track/ rally project is ideal. otherwise look for something that has been cherished and spend the 2500. Thats my 10 pence worth anyway

rule of thumb : any williams is worth a tenner less than
what Mat Brown is willing to pay for it !!!

^ second that
Try between £5K to £8K

Every car new or old when you buy it youve straight away lost money. simples really. Only people who profit are the garages, government and the services that feed off cars.
You buy a car for work and you can reason with the depreciation as at least you are earning money by using it.
Buy a car for pleasure and thats like throwing money after a whore. she'll always leave you begging for more.

^ i've a soft spot for these slappers

Seriously though lads on a more serious note about potential Williams buyers. We all know they are a performance car right? But what many do not realize is that these cars are between 15/17 years old and unless they have been very well kept they are a death trap. They dont call them widow makers for no reason!
I had the gutting experience recently of seeing a williams 1 being demolished as the car was written-off. The owner at the time (a young lad) said he was going to fast into a bend. Me personally I think the car was not FIT to be on the road in the first place. No maintenance had been done on the car, worn shocks, wobbly steering etc etc.
Screw the looks I say and get the car mechanically sound before even considering taking it out on the road.
