I've been working from home since Tuesday.

Do you think my R1R medium compound tyres will be ok for this sort of weather?

No, not really. Toyo issued an advisory saying these tyres should be stored indoors during the winter and not allowed to get to a temperature below 0 degrees C. They also stated that in sub-zero temperatures "Do not operate the car with these tires, as the tires may suddenly fail."

I had thought that this just applied to R888s, and so have moved my stash from the garage into the house, but checking the notice again it does mention R1Rs on the list too!

Luckily I have some spare speedlines with road legal tyres on. Off out to change them shortly!

If you're looking for a snow day you're work shy! Been snowing every night for about the last 2 weeks here. On pavements etc must be well over a foot of snow. Have to dig my car out most mornings. Here people just get on with it.

I can't believe the amount of snow that most of the country has had. Where I am we just had a small flutter a couple of days ago, so there's practically nothing around at all. I do prefer it that way though :)

Roll on summer!!! 8)

Drove to work after we managed to unblock the road as it had cars that couldn't get up the icy hill.

Mine flew up the hill no problem. The gripper differential makes a massive difference, I am really impressed! All the open diff cars just sat there wheel spinning.

The fact the car weighs fuk all helps too ;)

Here's a pic of mine in the snow today:

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j299/2stis/clio/wil295_16.jpg

It must have warmed up a bit as the snow is melting very fast around here at the moment - I reckon most of it will be gone by the end of the day, and then when the temps drop at night on the waterlogged roads it will no doubt be very icy tomorrow morning - take care all!

Stevie that looks propper mint!

Thanks. I'd say the interior was mint - I really can't find anything wrong with it. The exterior is pretty good too - the paintwork looks nice and there aren't any signs of rust coming through. A few small dents here and there that I might get taken out one day and the wheels definitely need a refurb before the car is really a minter. Couple of plastic bits to replace too. It is mainly mechanically that it was quite tired, but I've renewed a lot of that now so hopefully it will drive as good as it looks.

Stevie - GET IT OUT OF THE SNOWWWWWWWW

It will be fine. It wasn't snowing at the time so I just took it out of the barn to get a few pics in the snow. It only moved a few feet up and down the drive and I know that I haven't salted it so nothing to worry about!

Cheers. I hadn't noticed the wipers - I'll take a closer look. They could probably do with replacing anyway so I'll get something that looks more OE (are they the ones with the 'spoiler' on one side?)
