Hey everyone,

Thought it was about time I posted my arch repair photos, it was almost 3 months ago, lol

The bodyshop had my car almost 5 weeks but they did a fantastic job... The good point was the amount of money i saved in petrol using the 1.2 litre courtesy car :)

Lain? lol. its iain mate

I do clean the lip as much as i can, infact, i have cut back on using the pressure washing and currently using watering cans to rinsh my Zaino shampoo off.

The nearside arch was repaired 2 years ago but it's just as rusty now as it was before it got repaired.

I can't see anything, can you circle the picture if i send you it?

Do you mean where the grid is on the reflection?

I saw that and didn't want to say anything

Can you take a picture side on further away from the car?

Noooo not a 1.2 panel!

The sole reason I sold mine - they look so wrong!

MatrixGuy

I am a bit confused. They welded in a part panel, what makes it a 1.2 panel?

Just when i think everything is going well for the car then I find out its all a shvte job, great :(

the repair panel used is not 100% dimensions / profile match to the original 'williams' panel. Original repair panels as you know are very very hard to find. I have only ever seen one. U can buy the full wings but are very expensive.

IMO - the 1.2 rear wing panels are different in the rump strip recess, arch profile bulge, arch radius and where the arch meets the bumper.

Ah ok, I didnt realise. Do you think most people would even notice? I considerd getting the whole arch but I just couldnt afford it.

It's a common problem in Hungary. But a 'golden-handed' body ironer can match perfectly the 1.2 panel to Williams's / Valver's wing.

Get some other pictures up from different angles and in different light and see if anyone notices. The pic you have there makes it more noticeable.

From the pics you show there I can see the slight distortion along the bumpstrip section.

How much are full repair panels?

Looks good mate, don't worry most people won't even notice the slight distortion. Just out of interest where did you get it done and how much did they charge for the work?

It's the roll off from the 1.2 arch to the bumper I hate - it doesn't curve down it just flattens off and goes straight, Wish I had known it before hand.

Look at your original arch and the go round the other side to the new one, unless he's shaped the arch you should see a difference.

It's not the end of the world, no-one would ever notice who doesn't know anything about a williams it's just that personally I knew and I didn't like that at all.

Still a million times better than it was! :D

Hiya mate,

It was Trident Bodyshop in Lytham St Annes. It cost me £480, had a few other bits done too.

I can really notice it now. It's strange how you don't notice something at first but when someone tells you it hits you in the face everytime you see it. lol.

this is what seperates a good bodyshop from a great body shop.

A great one will match the arch 100% and know what they are doing.
