Anyone ever bought a willy alloy on its own and fitted it as a spare in the carrier underneath?

does it fit ok?

Also, how much do single alloys go for?

It will fit no problem but will suffer from corrosion.

The steelie weighs loads, it would be worth sticking an alloy in the carrier just to save weight! Waxoyl would keep it in order, only your hands would get dirty changing a wheel! but not if you carry some latex/rubber gloves about with you

You could wrap it in a plastic bag and tap it sealed so the moisture doesn't get in??? I used to do that on my old Renault 5's....

When I had mine I put the spare willy wheel in a 4x4 soft cover. Worked a treat!
