I'm currently trying to sell my Clio Williams and getting some serious interest from someone in France. He's asking me if I have a Certificate of Conformity... to be honest I haven't got a clue. I can't find anything in any of my documentation.

Can anyone give me any advice? Is this something I should have!?

The exact question I'm being asked is :

"to immatriculate the car in France, I need the COC (Certificat of Conformity), usually delivered when we buy a new car. have you this COC in your documents ? otherwise, I need to request this certificat to Renault France."

Hi , I needed this when i imported my car from the UK to Malta. Tk god i managed to get away with it as Renault France wanted 85 euro sent to them together with a copy of the '' recto verso de la carte grisse'' no idea what that is. i can send you a scanned copy of the letter if ya like.

Believe UK equivalent to 'carte grisse' would be the v5 doc. a record of ownership and that vehicle is EU legal.
Cert of conformity is different as if you were importing to UK this doc would verify that changes from left to right drive had been carried out, (lights etc) would suggest your French buyer will need to make the changes and get a French cert issued.
