Just a quicky this one - the three switches directly above the Williams plaque (if you've got one of course!!) , are they supposed to be illuminated with the rest of the dash instruments??

Only mine aren't and if they're meant to be its now going to annoy me and be another job on the to do list!!

Yes they should, the hardest to find is a working hazard switch.

Do the switches themselves have bulbs in, or do they sit on top of an individually backlit fascia?

The hazard has a built in bulb that can't be replaced without changing the whole switch and the other two you can just swap the bulbs on If I remember rightly.

So how would you get the light to work behind the rear de-mister switch? :?

Change the bulb.

Take the grey cap off the top (be careful) and you'll see the bulb inside.

I've got a Williams re-build manual (the one always on ebay for £26.99) which shows you exactly how to change these switch bulbs....

Will have to try it. hardest bit is boundn to be getting the switches out without damaging the surrounding dashboard...

Take the heater control panel out and push them from behind.

Mat, any clio mk1 hazard switch should work right? there are a few on ebay that you could switch over the top part of the switch for your own one so long as the connection is 9 pin?
I tried to be a smart arse yesterday by replacing the bulb in the hazard switch (as the bulb is the same as the others). It did work but i messed up somewhere along the way with the contacts inside the switch and now need a new one.
