Im doing the belts and water pump tomm can anybody give me an idea of the order of what to remove to get the engine out and any tips and tricks.


i have the pdf for the williams but its a bit hit and miss.

need it done as im at llandow saturday.

I thought Paddy might get in before me with this one. Stolen from a recent thread on C16V i was involved in.

Sorry but these arnt in order, start with taking the battery and airbox off etc


Gear linkage
Speedo cable
Throttle cable
Earth strap
Dogbone mount
Fuel lines
Pull ECU out of its home
Downpipe
Driveshafts
Power steering pipe at the front of the block
Radiator & coolant pipes
clutch cable
unplug lambda sensor
brake servo vac pipe
Relay Box
Lambda Sensor

The engine comes out on a tilt so the gearbox drops lower at quite an angle. So it clears the chassis leg. Goes back in the same, gearbox end first

Ask ClioKiz, he will give you an order for removal.

Really helped me when I took my engine out.

easy enough to do the belts and water pump with engine in situ tbh.

just drop the top mount off, and raise lower engine on a jack......simples.....should only be a 1/2 day job at most

Isn't there an issue with doing the water pump in situ. One of the bolts is obscured

yeah by the pas pump brackets so either way thats got to be removed to change the water pump

aye..but still easy enough to do in situ......never had any problems before tbh.
