Hi all,

Got a weird problem that's developed on my Williams recently, there' appears to be some kind of rumbling/clonking noise coming from the front end.

If I'm on the accelerator, no noise.
If I'm on the brakes, no noise.

But if I'm off of both and coasting in gear then there's a rumbley ticking noise that seems to change pitch in relation to the speed of the wheels turning. For example at low speed it's kind of "tick .. tick .. tick", where as at a higher speed it blends into a ticky rumble .... if that makes sense.

Any ideas what to check?

Cheers

Ah my saviour! :D

I must apologise, I spotted you in Tesco the other week but had one of those moments ... "I know that guy, but where from!?" ... I then remembered on the way out who you were, apologies

You about tomorrow evening by any chance?

They shouldn't be here that long tho.

Right, Mat seems to think it might be the drivers side driveshaft, anyone know where I can pick one up?

Looking on Eurocarparts, they have two (part num: 654745320 or 654745321), it's not even clear which side these are for, but both of these mention an ABS fitment, where as mine is a Williams 2 without ABS.

Does anyone know if these would fit?

Cheers

Even if they are listed as abs they will fit yours fine.

Daz!

Think you might be right, that refurbished box works a treat mind :) Still no new heat-shield yet though.

It might not even be my Williams much longer, once this gremlin is sorted then she'll be off to a new home!
