I'm trying to replace water pump at my friend's valver and I can't figure out how to undo the top two bolts. The two behind aux belt tensioner. Is there a way to undo them without taking off that big chunk of metal that supports alternator, PAS pump, etc.

I have already removed alternator too, but I don't know how this would help.

Any ideas, because soon I'll go mad!?!

You need to move the PAS bracketary to get to the remaining bolts. You can can thank renault for the shit design.

Iis there a diagram with all the bolts shown? Because I must of removed about 10 bolts from that large bracket, but still no luck.

LOL Robi, shit job huh?

There's basically two brackets that fit together, there are a bunch of big bolts facing forward and around the PS pump that hold it all in place, plus some on the side facing and one or two under the alternator.

There is a pic somewhere here mate, gives you a good idea of what's going on. The design is total wank tbh. I was tempted to cut the part off the bracket that hides the pumps top bolts.

if memory serves me correct theres a bolt behind the top pulley you have to take that off with the three top screws. Cant rmember if theres a bolt behind the adjustable pulley and theres numerous ones on the front some right up in behind the inlet manifold which are a nightmare to get to.

yea, was about to say there are a couple of bolts BEHIND the pulley there.

Which pulley? PAS pump pulley? Or aux belt tensioner pulley?

I tried to remove PAS pulley yesterday and I unscrewed 3 bolts holding it in place (btw which cu*t at renault thought it would be a good idea to use allen keys 7 and 9 for locking the pulleys?!? But there's a lip on the shaft so that you can't take the pulley off. Should I just use more force or what?

Yes, PAS pulley. Mate, the three shitty torx bolts need to be removed then it should just come off.

the lip on the end will prob be a build up of rust. Be careful though the torx are small and can be fragile.
