from what you say up there ^^^
you sound like the type of person that would go to a lesbian bar
and order beer .
they will eventually figure out you are a gay boi in drag :D
FAIL !!!

my main worry at the moment is the slight oil leak i still have
on this engine . after a short run i park up there is a little pool under the
drivers side wishbone
i am hoping its not the head again .

Looks great mate!!!!

How mcuh have you driven it? I had an oil leak like that but it sorted itself out, I think its where I had to fit the tappets and some residual oil forced its way out.

Clean it up and drive it about a bit more and keep eye on it.

thanks Wobbs :D

only driven it to mot and back around 8 miles ,tried to be low
on revs as well .
the problem is i dont know where the oil is exactly coming from .
opened the cam belt cover and had a quick look and it does not seem to
be coming from there but with spanking new clear oil its really hard to see where the hell its coming from :?

Well, keep an eye on it and oil levels and maybe it will become clearer as time moves on. I would have looked there first as well!

Maybe just residue from the leak before it was fixed?

Have you located oil leak then?

schakal
26-08-2010, 20:00
not sure , i think it might have stopped but i now have a water leak
from driver side . might be one of the water pump bolts .

still messing with the wide track adventure before i can happily drive the fokker. managed to get longer shafts ,modified front shocks to a wider spec with brand new koni inserts in them . i will see how much thread is going into the track rod after a proper laser tracking and see if i will have to
use longer track rods as well .

all good fun ,just cant wait to drive it :P

What kind of parts did you used on the 9 to get Widetrack?

-megane subframe (pushing wishbones 15mm further out )
-megane shafts (15mm longer than 9 ones)
-19 16v track rod ends (these are longer than 9 ones to take the 15mm -extra but also give some castor )
-custom made shock absorber shells with hub mounting holes 15mm further out. got koni inserts in these originally made for a 19 16v .
-megane arb 24mm

Wishbones are stock R9 or something else? I don't know a lot about R9 front suspension, so on which other Renault car is it based? Clio? R5?
