My williams 2 cut out today and flat blank refused to start again .
Got a tow home and managed to re start but only with throttle held wide open and then very ruff and cut out again.

My symtoms are fuel pump relay clicking four or five times and or fuel pump priming over and over both are intermitant and i have also had nothing at all be it clicking or priming.

Removed ecu to check for water or anything obvious but nothing .

had a general look over put it all back together and it started first time.
Drove to auto electricians and explained the problem .

I then started it up to show him and the fuel pump primed 3 times again but did start.

Help please track day saturday spent over 400 quid in a month and now this.

This car will be for sale shortly i have had enough my alfa was more reliable its like driving an egg scared its going to break all the time and it does. I hope its just a relay .

Power to the relay or poor earth to the pump very common.

Mine would start and run sometimes, but would cut out and when restarted would run like shit and cut out again, exactly the same symptoms as you describe. Mine seemed to be an intermittent problem though, changed the fuel pump and everything was ok

OK i have put my dummy back in for now.

i broke down 3 times getting to the garage and guess what after 3 hours of relay and wire checking it had no faults and started first time.

Fuel pump relay fine, fuel pump fine all earths ect checked all fine said it was very tidy .

stuck it on a diognostic and no faults.

very fair auto electrician spent half a day on it with me but could not find a fault so didnt charge me a bean.

took her for a drive and we have made friends.......for now.

Jon point taken i will wind my neck in.

check the loom for faults, mine rubbed through where it passes over gearbox top mount and caused all sorts of intermittant issues
