I would like to know how much wider is the williams track then that of a std 16v.. please state if the quoted length is per side or per full width.

Am currently prepping my 16v for hillclimb & sprint events and would like to go wide track but being impossible to find any williams subframe, wishbones, trackrod ends & arb here in Malta I thought I could machine a set of wheel spacers and bolt them directly to the disks.

I think its 30mm wider overall,15 per side

It's 17mm per side. You don't necessarily need Williams subframe to fit Widetrack. R19 bottom arms can be used instead of Williams ones and they also have more castor. ARB can be used also from R19 as it's the same thickness as Williams, 23mm.

I use the R19 wishbones and its fine. Can dial out castor with the AST top mounts as well.

What types of R19 tho ? only the 16v ?

in that case I have never seen a 19 16v here in Malta .. so again, very difficult to find wishbones & arb

R19 16V are the ones that shold be used. But I think that most of Ph2 R19s have the same wishbones and ARB.
This is why I think so:

I spent quite a lot of time studying R19 and Clio suspension setups. I even tried other forums like Retro Renault which helped a little. But the main reason why I think Ph2 R19s all have same ARB are these printscreens from R19 factory manual that I have.

So conclusion is that if a R19 has ARB it is 23mm thick or it doesn't have ARB at all. Next printscreen shows types of R19s.

From this you can conclude that lower spec R19s, mostly with C series engines fitted, doesn't have ARBs fitted. If you look for basic R19, lets say B35A(E7J(1.4 energy engine)) it has ARB which is 23mm so I think it could be used instead of R19 16V or Williams one, without any problems. I think that all ARBs on Ph2 R19s are the same. Therefore front track width(wishbones, subframe, ARB) are same on all Ph2 R19s.

I haven't tryed anything of this in real life but I think this data is correct.

Although the track would be the same as William's but the steering geometry would differ. Forget spacers! Use widetrack!
