Hi All,

After taking my willy out of dry storage (OMG the best feeling after driving a 306 1.9D for 2months) I have admitted defeat and accepted that my exterior temperature gauge wont fix itself (it has done in the past!)

So at the moment it simply flashes constantly saying that the temperature outside is 50*c .........i wish it was!

Is it the black nib under the n/s wing mirror i need to change? If so, how do i get the bu**er off?!

Thanks

Yes ,normally its that which is at fault, mine did this for a while until i changed it.

You need to remove the mirror glass and black base plate from inside the mirror to get enough room to wiggle the black sensor out, also it can be fiddly trying to get the connection plug out

if its a williams 1 its a nightmare, did mine but totally fubared the manual adjuster in the process! so if you do take it apart, make sure you note EXACTLY how the whole lot is clamped into the mirror assembly before you pull it all out in a frenzy like i did

Easier to just swap the mirror.

Try cleaning the connector between door pillar and door, some elcetrical cleaner and a wipe over fixed mine. Still working 2 years on.

Let me know the results, i tried two 2nd hand mirros first and neither worked, so a coleague cleaned it and worked, blew a bulb on the display a week later lol, but been right as rain ever since
