Got it removed today.

After getting one from Northy that he'd replaced I was able to understand a bit more on how it came off, originally i thought it wasnt removable if you lot can remember. Dont have any pullers of any sort, CV joint for the bin anyway, just took a hammer to it and smashed the hell out of it (rough arse i am) and away it came, took A LOT of persuading.

Heres my question.

I bought the shafts with struts springs hubs discs etc and they were advertised as 172, but look at the size of the cv joint compared to the one that i got off northy? Its miles bigger?

Could it be 182 setup?

Or did some 172 differ in size?

Look at the ABS ring, its miles out compared to one off northy?

Hoping that Im not going to have any issues on this going to 172 widetrack with the parts I have already purchased?

The one from Northy is the one on the right...the one on the left is the one i removed from what i purchased....

FFS!!!!!

for 172 track dont u just use williams shafts as they are and 172 hubs with clio 16v/williams stub axles?

the shafts i have are 16v so they wouldnt do, couldnt comment on willy parts, theres a guide on clio16valver with parts required, so ive just followed that from someone who has done it.

If i was a guessing man id say thered would be a compatibility issue between the spline size on 172 hubs internal on willy cv joints and them slipping in together.

Still doesnt get round my issue though.

Right, doesnt seem that theres much knowledge around on these.

I have measured bolt spacing on hubs and its 54mm give or take 1mm and my floppy tape.

So im therefore presuming im ok on this going off foxy's guide on 16valver.

Im assuming that these are 182 calipers shafts etc, going off these on ebay;

Im therefore assuming im ready to rock on these.

Will soon find out on fitting!

is it just the brake conversion then? either way brealbags has done it and put the 172 brakes on as well, but pretty sure he used williams shafts and stub axles and just the hub off the 172
