View Full Version : Iridium Plugs - Tried Em

tried some recently, the car starts a LOT better with them in, however it might just be me but it doesnt seem to run better, i feel it was slightly quicker with the normal BKR6EK plugs

the idle is pretty good going off the gauge but if you listen to the engine it sounds like its missin more than normal at idle

bought some normal ones to go back in see if its just me imaginin it

i use em mate, they seem pretty reliable, had em a few months and had no probs watso ever, and mine started up alot better too!!!

what part number are you using

maybe it was the weather or something but it seems fine tonight, good infact, and ive already bought some normal ones, ah well they can wait til next time

might wanna make sure the rest of ure high tension side of the ignition is top notch, i just replaced my coil pack, ht leads and dizzy/rotor, **** me was it all worn to buggery !!!

ive got a brand new dizzi, cap, and rotor arm from Renault mate a few weeks back, and Magnecor leads

nice one... im running the platinum tipped ngk's at the mo which seem good, i think they are 1 step colder from standard, with the iridiums being 2 steps from standard? not quite sure how its worked out.

well my iridiums are still a 6 heat range plug like the standard BKR6EK

Got to fit my Denso Iridiums soon.

How much are new coil packs?

Replaced my dizzy and rotor 18 months ago and they were shot to pieces. Also running Magnecor leads so only weak point will be any wear on the Champion EON's I have in now and the coil pack.

i can get em for about £25/£30 a pack for you mate i think, normally they are £10 a plug

put normal plugs back in, BKR6EK

car isnt starting as good but its running a lot better
