soldering iron - what with fiberglass ?
Dont you mean plastic welding L ?
yeah she means plastic welding .
you probably wont need fiberglass at all for a crack at the wing .
just plastic weld the crack back and fill the dent with plastic filler (hallfrauds)

I sometimes work with fiberglass and resin, so here are my opinions:
1, buy a decent 3M half-face mask with proper filters ans safety glasses. It's very important! These materials (resins, accelerators, catalysts) are dangerous and can cause serious health damage. For example, I often use vinylester resin, it's heat resistant RTV-3 resin, meaning that the final resin consists of 3 components: vinylester resin, NL23 cobalt accelerator (very-very dangerous material, can cause cancer) and Butanox M50 catalyst.
2, always use glooves
3, decide what you want to do. It determines what kind of resin you have to use. There are many kinds of resins, an expert will be able to choose you the proper resin
4, fiberglass may be chopped or fabric. Glass fabric must be laminated, chopped glass must be mixed with resin before use.
5, it's very messy work
hope this helps :)
