can any repairs be done to a tyre? i know if its the wall its a no go..i've looked at the tyre and cant see anything in the tread so im not hopeful.... grrrr :evil:

i had a brand new set of michelins pilots fitted to my 172 about 5 months ago now one of them is ****ed! to say im furious is an understatement!! those tyres are 130 notes a pop and it still has full tread its devasting!

Best bet is to make a weak solution of washing up liquid with water to search for leaks.

I would then remove the wheel and check for leaks around the edge of the rim and tyre valve. I have had a few instances recently where the tyre fitters dont clean the rims prior to fitting the tyre so it does not create an airtight seal.

Yes, you will find that some tyres that your places like Shitfit tell you are un-repairable are actually repairable by a specialist but obviously they wont tell you that as they want to sell you a new tyre!

You need to find a tyre dealer with a vulcanising machine which actually melts new rubber around the puncture which can be done on the shoulders of the tyre but not on the sidewall. Most tyre places just slap a patch on like a bike repair kit but that only works on the flat central part of the tyre..

130 notes is better than a blow out mate, just get a new one. peace of mind is better than wrecked car or worse.
