Has anybody ever welded the steering column on their williams to get rid of play in the steering and roughly how much would this cost as I need to get mine done fairly soon and would rather do this than buy a new rack!

Probably a question for Stromba this as I know he's done it to his williams and had some pictures knocking about somewhere. Does he still come on here BTW??

Heres my old one which I welded up. I bought a new one and welded and sold this one to Allan. Just weld around knuckle.

I've had this done too and didn't get any of the vibrations apparently felt with this job. No problems at all. Cost me £30 courtesy of Bullcrusher, who comes on this site.
