You're better off getting a used pump.

Are you usre the pump is dead? It'll make some nasty noises when it runs dry but you might find it'll quieten down again when it's re-filled with fluid.

Pretty sure i've got a spare pump.

Thanks...

I just need the OE number to make sure i get the correct pump when ordering a reconditioned pump i've found on the net.

The pump is dead! I cannot turn the wheels while stationary - and it makes dreadfull noices. (System is filled and bleed properly)
100Km without fluid is not good!

Did think about that... but...
Tbh i quite like the feel of the PAS on the Clio.
It feels very good compared to alot of other cars.
Not too much assistance and it does not remove the feel of conectivity between the steering wheel and the wheels.
And i need it with the Gripper diff on the tight twisty tracks we have where i live.

Mr. Wobba:
Is it in perfectly working condition?
Price incl. freight to DK

Well, I've never used it tbh so I dont know, but it was fine when taken off apparently.

No idea on postage and things, I'll have to ask my Freight Forwarder mate, but she wont be about for a few days I don't think.

What is steering feel like with one of these electric pumps?

we have one on our rally clio. its really smooth. also light when driving slow. With belt driven pump the rpm is really low when parking. This is not the case with elecktric.

Sounds interesting.

Is it a straight fit or does anything need modifying?
What about the electrical wiring. Do you have some schematics showing how you did it?

Michael (I still want the pump though Wobba) :D

i tried matteh's lecci powered steering on his valver (172 powered) and tbh it felt heavier on idle not moving than normal power steering, but still lighter than manual steering.

didnt drive it at speed but i reckon its probably a worthy swap to eliminate messy beltwork and still retain steering feel

the lot of you need to man up a couple notches tbh :?
there is no difference between a p/s and manual steering once you
are over 5mph . FACT !!!

On our rally clio we use a pump from mercedes, and a simple switch on the dashboard. Not really handy on a road car. i dont have experience with an genuine renault (clio bacarra/r19 airco) pump

It comes in handy when you are catching a car mid corner at high speed. Especially on wider tyres and with bigger rims.

@G33R7: That's a pump from A-class Mercedes? They are really popular for swaps. You just have to get the model with 2 wires (some have 3).

From what I've heard S2000 electrohydraulic system is very good too! Nicely weighted, but a bit harder to find.
