the car smokes every so often and is burning a lot of oil? piston rings or valve seals? what could be the prob? cheers matty

Could be either. Have you done a compression test?

When is it smoking, on throttle or when you get off throttle? If on it's rings, if off then it's seals.

When im in high revs n let off the throttle them put my foot back on the throttle thats when it smokes?

Unless its a vast amount dont worry about it till it blows up.

Not unless you're really caning it round a track for example. Or you're driving a Ford CVH :lol:

If you rag it to 6k, let it come down the revs, the bury the throttle again, you'll probably get a big cloud of blue smoke. It's the stem seals. The vaccum in the cylinders sucks the oil past the worn valve stem seals.

Not a difficult job to replace them by the way, just time consuming.

its the atmospheric presure between inlet and exhaust had to study it at collage couple ov years ago
