View Full Version : The return of HFS!
after a very long time being un-used due to work etc i decided to get my valver sorted out, i ditched all the trackslag stuff and get it back to fast road fun!! so out with the cage/buckets/poly windows/fibreglass bonnet etc in with the full ph1.5 interior, lights/boot strip etc! also decided to tone down the wheels! bright orange was abit in your face lol so had them done anthracite but currently left the caps and mirror caps orange!
few pics here, still needs a good clean/polish but cba as i just wanted to take it for a drive down the local back roads! :D 8)

looks amazing ive always loved this car!
Excellent work Richy! I knew it wouldn't be long before it was back in shape and on the road...
There are still a few track-slag hallmarks there..the R888's, no fog lights, plus the orange parts :)
it will always be a slag at heart! :lol: the main thing was to make it more fast road focused, still a few things to sort but nothing major!
was well worth the wait though, i forgot how quick it was and the way it corners is amazing! combo of the leda's and r888's is awesome! :D
mine feels rapid so yours must be mad as!! 8)
oh not sure if to keep the orange bits or get them done in anthracite to match wheels, that was my original plan but do semi like them orange!
Planning to spend alot of time on the road then ;)

Looks great but the orange bits just look out of place now. If you want them as a reminder of before and you find them 'fun' - leave it as it is.
Deffo needs the fogs or fog blanks in though!
fog lights will be going back on jamie, i found the original ph1 lights, just didnt fit them as i cant find the loom and had it mot'd last weekend,
will most likely be changing the orange bits back to match the car when i get the time, i did a quick photoshop with them in the correct colours and it looks smart as imo!
track slags are over rated imo , fast road is the way to go .
orange bits look a wee ghey imo unless you do the side and bumper
strips the same colour :idea:

I like Richy's car as is. But then I've always had a soft spot for it for some reason. Just always looks "right".
If it was for sale it would certainly tempt me back into mk1 ownership... :wink:

To be fair, it was only when watching Love The Beast the other night that I realised I should never have sold the valver and should've pulled my finger out and fixed it up., rather than sending it to the grave :(

I try to console myself by thinking about the utterly rotten shell.
It doesn't work. Only car I've ever felt a "connection" with :(
i would have sold it a few month ago, but decided to keep it and get it more suitable for general fast road fun, climbing over a cage into a bucket seat and messing about with harness's etc got abit tiresome!
love it now i can just jump in and go, currently running the cat and going to keep it on as its pretty quiet lol can actually hear the radio! :lol:
thought id post a few pics as ive made a few more changes, fogs back on and turbines purchased, will be changing the brakes/exhaust soon aswell

obv needs a clean lol but thought id rather take it for a run instead before cleaning it!

i still have the williams wheels(minus tyres) at the moment, but wanted to change it back to turbines tbh
keep it for now, maybe lol who knows, suppose it depends how long it is before i get bored and buy a new car! :lol:

its getting there mate, need to get a standard clutch in there though, the r5 uprated thing is like a on/off switch! made getting back from angelsey a nightmare in 3+hour of crawling lol

lol it is one of my downpours the cleaning malarky!! tend to just drive it instead of cleaning it but dont worry in a few weeks once i get a few weekend it will be getting a good polish!

You know, much as I was always an original fanboi, I really liked it before you started putting it back to stealth spec. It just looked...right.
