Our lass is now on the look out for a new car after selling the smart car.

We went out in this last night.

I wasnt prepaired for how quick this feker went. The feeling i had when i first passengered 2live has now been beaten....this thing moved.

The body work was tatty and the interior let the car down, but it drove really well.

Offered him 5K but rejected it.

The differance between WRX and STI is unreal.....i was almost writing out a forsale sign for the williams after 5 mins in this.

not my cup of tea tbh. they were ok about 5 years ago b4 evry tom dick n harry got 1.

still quick tho. prefer the estate version meself, goes as well ,not as common, and im told they handle slightly better...im not convinced on that tho

and the constant rebuilds of the shite design engine would do me nut in lol..

Northy, you can pick an STi6 Type RA for about 7k if you look about, that will also be on a W reg or abouts and they come with colour coded interior iirc. very nice and very cheap.

hi mate

she has only got 4500 - 5k with help at a push now.

Insurance for a WRX is £950 a year - not sure how much a STI will be.

But i was well impressed with this lads....love turbos

yup, they are rapid the STi's, I've had a go in a P1 and that was pretty silly... things come towards you at speeds you just cant understand until you have been in a car of that performance... lol

it's worth saving the extra and getting a newer example Richy, i'd be careful of the ones at the lower price as they will have prolly been redlined to ****... £7k gets you a low mile newer minter if you look about mate.

for the record I hate turbo's... very boring once you get used to the power all coming in at once... I find my mates Scooby a bit of a dull ride now that i'm used to the power delivery... deffo gotta be an M3 next

u thought about evo 2/3 mate, 260bhp 4wd turbo, great handling etc can pick up mint ones for 5k, not new like, for me its £900 to insure

Evo looks too much like a blokes car tho, the Scooby has softer lines... still aggressive, but softer than the Evo's imo

Im not so sure you'll get this type of car for 7k! A version 6 type RA will start at around 10k and finish at 14k. WRX ra's may be a little cheaper, but not much.

they feel quick when the turbo kicks in! lots of torque too!

the problem with scoobies is they are prone to blowing up, and cost a fekin fortune to repair! jap ones especially with them beign used to 103 odd ron fuel!

thats why i sold mine, i couldnt rag it without fear of it costing me a £2k rebuild!

awesome cars tho, especially the noise! also they are down as 276bhp, but most will be over 300 from the factory! the type R or RA are quicker tho with the low ratio boxes! and lighter!

I thought the stis were the rapid ones...280+ bhp suppose they are in classic shape. The new scoobs are too heavy though..

you can pick Scooby's up for next to nothing, what they go for and what people pay for them are completely different, that SIT RA was one I saw in the autotrader and I've seen cheaper ones... I guess it has something to do with the markt for these cars being flooded.
