Why wont the temp display go out??

Here we go again. Finally get the misfire and cutting out sorted and within an hour 0041 comes up with another problem!

The outside temp display packed up a while back so I took the dash out and replaced both illumination bulbs which had died. Hoorah, a nice bright display.....only when you switch off and lock up the backlights remain illuminated and ultimately lead to a flat battery.

Any clues anyone? What have I done wrong??

I'm determined to get it fault free for the FCS....

Are all the wires in the plug correct?

I'll pull the cluster out again and have a look next weekend.

Also found that the speedo needle has got the wobbles between 20-30mph since then too. It was fine before tho. I thought that was usually due to wear in the cable but seems a coincidence that its started since I disconnected it when pulling the instrument cluster out....
