has anyone had these fitted to a williams? i think cleans is a 1.8 still isnt it?

just wandering but seen as the williams is a low revving compared to the valver, would running 260degree cams(or there abouts) work with throttle bodies etc? would there be need for other work ie head reworked, bottom end aswel to help this get best use posible out of them??

cheers for any info :)

clean is still on stnd btm end, 280 cams I think revs limited at 7300 rpm...would make more power with btm end work to raise the revs

cool, my main point is would it be useless having 260degree cams and a raised limter to 7200etc

2lives is pretty rampant up to 7.1k on 260 cams...

I think (although may be wrong) that Mehdi's is on the same cams as mine and Jesus'. 260's IIRC.

I keep planning to do a TB conversion, but using bike TB's which are available for peanuts in comparison.

T/B's arn't cheap since you need a new radiator.

What sort of RPM do the 260 degree cams kick in at? I'm after something to help drop the 5k kick the 270 in mine down a bit. EVen 4.5k would be a nice drop.

iirc around 4-4.5 rpm mate thats why i want 260degree, high up power doesnt bother me so much, rather have the bit lower power and rasie limit a fraction etc

Any idea on price?
Will have to have a word at the track day about this if you get a chance.

Bike TB's are cheap as (around £200 2nd hand for 38-40mm) . Although require a fair amount of work to fit and get to work apparently.

My car doesnt seem to have lost any low down power that you would notice on the AWT cams. Has a very useable powerband the whole way through and will probably be even better whern I sort out a new induction kit. Will be interesting to compare to the other cars at Anglessey, but Edde's been in it not long after the cams were done and commented it was quick.

yeah the 260s i had in mine kept the same kinda acceleration it has now low down, but gave u a kick up the arse about 4250 rpm all the way to the redline.sometimes 7100 sometimes 7500...lol..

the cams that are in now......sadly lack the 4250 -redline kick lol.....

no offence to anyone without cams....but fukkin ell...mine feels dog slow now, and its possibly still capable of mid 14s.lol

Mine is running 280 deg cams, power is there all the way from low revs as with a normal 2L, then at about 4k its starts to really pick up, as it passes 5.5k you just hold on for dear life. It could see really big gains if it had a higher rev limit then 7.3k but not worth risking on a std bottom end. At the minute the cams are not dialled in 100% either ebcause of clearence issues with valve opening. The car is going up for sale soon anyway so watch this space

different lifestyle in down south so the car doesn't get driven at all, its more of a burden as i have to get lifts etc everywhere as to avoid doing short trips in it. It gets 2-3 good runs a week, something that i won't feel guilty starting up on a cold morning and driving 5 mins to the gym/shops/work would be more suitable!
