A friend of mine is making up some Grp A style bottom arms for my Valver rally car. They are Williams fitment and will be rose jointed. Wanted to see what sort of interest there would be on here for a few sets.

http://www.maxi.36t.co.uk/rwx_gallery/File0043.jpg

The design is in its initial stages and we're looking at around £100 per pair. They will be made up within the next 3/4 weeks. Deposit of £20 needed for production goes ahead.

Any questions then ask, add your name to the list if interested:

I am in for a set.

I reckon with these it may be wise to have your cars professionally calibrated with suspension geometry. I'll be runnign adjustable top mounts, camber bolts and damper/height adjustable coilies and then these...lots can go wrong if you **** the setup, so I'll be off to get mine done pro-styleee.

Also, one issue is if you only want, say, camber...adjusting the bar would affect castor as well....wouldn't it?

what's the advantage of these?

just stronger i am assuming?

Adjustable camber & castor, lighter, less flex.

How exactly is that possible?
Where does the vertical "thing" attach?
I might be interested depending on final price of these.

I'm very interested indeed but just want to be a llittle more confident in the quality of them and a few things about how they're gonna work.
How will the ball joint to the knuckle work?
How many of the parts in the pic will be included and what other mods are needed to fit them?
How are the strengths, stresses and strains being worked out so these don't sheer or fail as it's a very high stress part.

I'm more than happy to take a punt with 20quid and 3 weeks added to my project is a drop in the ocean lol

Likewise,I would be interested especially at that price,£100 a pair ~~
Not to dampen anyones enthusiam BUT,I bought a pair of secondhand Nova wishbones with a bview to modify etc etc. £150 !!!.
They are superb on smooth Tarmac, but as you can imagine, they pick up "road noise" etc on everyday vehicles,The brackets on the chassis rail will need manufactureing and also welding on the shell. To fasten to the upright, you need High Tensile bolts etc and do away with the bottom ball joint, just bolt through the outermost Rose joint ~~ I applaud the guy,to start to manufacture, and yes they are the ultimate, but there is a lot a work etc etc.
I went back to "standard" wishbones with "polyflex bushes" etc. After being advised by Gordon Birthwhistle of PROFLEX,he suggests if I was losing events by tenths of seconds a stage etc,buy a sequential box.and gain time that way.
Like I said Please do not flame me for these negative comments,I will support the guy if the purchase price is around £100. but just have a look at the "control arm uniball" on this website (nova) ~~~ £237 a pair

The upright parts probably won't be included in the final design. I should of said that these will be based on the Grp A arms so there will be a bit of deviation from the above picture - yet to finalise!

In terms of fabrication, my mate has a lot of experience with metalwork his main builds are:

- 2 x mini rally cars (1 with a honda motor)
- His current E30 which is running an E36 M3 motor which also runs his own rose jointed bottom arms
- Welded in my roll cage which is fully MSA certified
- Welded in an e36 roll cage as well as various others

Not too sure how the ball joints will fit, again to be finalised.

Sorry everything seems a bit hazy, just wanted to see interest and we'll just have to see how things pan out.

Also, thanks for the feedback cliorod, good to have input from a competitor with past experience.

Thx for that SK84 LIFE    ,Glad to be of help,Like I said, earlier,I think you will find, you do away with the standard bottom ball joint, and connect the rose joints through the middle and through the upright/hub,where the the taper on the ball joint fits,I machined the taper out of the hub made it parallel, made an insert and pressed it into the hub.trial and error to pack off the bottom arm for clearance.

I have just remembered why I gave up on this modification.  There is no provision on there for the fitting of "standard" anti ~ roll bars,If you look further in the Gp A parts book item 32.10 you will see what I mean.
It will mean modifying/ making new, anti roll bars.
I think at the that point,I "threw in the towel" :?
It became to me,a long drawn out modification, and for very little gains.

I am not sure how the car would handle without them

Sorry guys but no progress has been made here, just been too lazy to sort anything out.
