absolutely bugger all due to being mechanically inept! give me a factory to wire, consider it done. put me in front of an engine bay :?

and to prove that 260 pounds of that was getting my sump taken off welded and put back on....all due to a little accident i had when trying to do something..

It's just the luck of the draw with these cars. I probably spent less than half of that on repairs in the past 130k miles.

my costs arent really due to things breaking my cars been really reliable. its all my own fault...roll cages, manifolds and brakes are all expensive toys!

.

^^ thats the problem ^^

my cars cost me more or less fokk all to keep on the road
due to me doing 99% of the work myself .
also keeping spares of almost every mechanical /electrical part does help big time !!!

i had 3 brake downs last winter ,including a clutch cable and a fokked
alternator . my car was always on the road the next day 8)

you will have to step/man up one way or another , 10 years a go i would not know how to check oil level . look at me now ,i can even change it these days :D :D

thousands... probably over £8k including the car over the past 3 years... don't really want to think about it... never sat down and totalled everything up either - probably best that way...

Wobba

Total, probably about the £13,000 mark over the last 2 years, not including the car itself.

Bit more to go, then its fast as fook, AND mint :)

Now I've thought about it & had a proper look, I don't think I've done too bad. Including buying the car, I've spent about £6.5 k, which includes servicing, wear & tear replacements, upgrades, repairs from when I break it, new engine & box.

I could probably round that figure down quite a bit if I didn't break a shitload of brand new mechanical stuff that I got for free, when I had a little sideways off road excursion  also from bit's I've removed from my 2 valvers & sold on for profit :D

The way I like to look at it is, I've got myself an almost brand new top of the range car, that I like a hell of a lot more than most of the newer cars I could've bought, for around about £6 k which isn't bad going really :D

Me too!

Thing is, there is only so far you can go, and once you have it to a standard you want you don't need to spend out on it any more, apart from servicing and the odd consumable.

Haha yea you are mental! So am I, but it's what you enjoy and so therefore money and logic take a backseat :) But wait, you say, I dont have backseats! Well, in these cases money and logic simply get chucked out out of the window instead!
