under acceleration.

What would cause this? also, what would cause a clicking noise on full lock, turning either way.

Recently the steering on my car has felt vague. I'm guessing its likely to be track rod/track rod end related?

click and vibration will be outer CV joint on one of the driveshafts mate

vague steering could be column needs welding or track rod ends, or very rarely its bushes that mount rack to subframe

I'm ruling out the column as it has been replaced about 5k Miles ago. (technically that was 3 years)

I'm familiar with the cost and work involved with the track rods, but what about CV's? Expsensive? Complicated?

Only real option is to replace the full driveshaft. New from renault they are around the £300mark i believe! Or get good second hand one on here.

Heard someone say there are engineering companies who can fix just the cv joint itself but that is specialist work i dont know about.

can replace the CV joint if you like, kits on ebay for about 30 quid iirc when they crop up

my local motor factors can get replacement williams shafts for £65, allegedly, i've yet to buy one and see if its the real thing but its a different part no. than the valver shaft he has and specified as exclusive to williams

Gonna try to get it diagnosed properly tomorrow and take it from there.

Where are you based Coops?

thats not a million miles away from me. :)

I might give Rod a call too, the company he linked that makes LSD's also makes driveshafts for around £150 apparently. Will be worth doing if it is the problem.

Well that was the first and last time I will be going to my local renault service centre, clowns. Its a pity as the parts desk is great.

Anyway, my track rod ends have seized, so I have ordered new ones, along with anything bush or mount or rubber related with a view to having them replaced next week.

While thats being done I'll get the CV joints and hubs inspected along with the brakes.

replacing the shaft is an easier option tbh, as as coops said the price is not bad.

I did both of mine on exchange about 3 months ago

I'll see what the cost is likely to be. I would rather get everything done and dusted in one go, but will depend on price.
