Hi, was wondering if anybody knows how to adjust the Alternator belt on a Mk1 1.8 16valve clio. It had a new belt on before i got it but its making a real squile until it warms up :? . Thanks :D

yes mate the middlre idler pulley has an adjusment mechanism built into the rear of it..

to adjust you need to slacken the 7mm allen key in its ventre and adjust using the hhuge nut on the front..22or 24mm i think..one way tightens the other slackens cant remember which..lol..

so adjust up tight with the 22mm/24mm and while holding it tight re tighten the 7mm allen key..its a bit of a pain but not impossible..

these are prone to being given too much grief though so if yours doesnt work i'm afraid you will need to soure a replacement..expensive and very time comsuming to replace the brackets..though mat brown on here might have spares..

lets hope its works for you..
