I am thinking of changing my brakes.

I'd prefer to keep things OEM however I am curious to know of alternatives to the standard ones.

I dont want big kits, I dont need them the standard ones have been more than adequate. However, due to Renaults prices I would consider alternatives.

Aye I'd agree.

Jon's 172 with Cabonne Lorraines are really good brakes. Need to be with that kind of power hehe.

Are the 172's calipers a straight swap onto the existing Williams set up?

No you'll need 172 stub axles machining to fit mk1 struts and to fit mk1 hubs into the stub axle so the willy shafts fit.

Easy job good brakes are ebc grooved discs and green stuff pads i found, i have them all round on my 3 and the brakes are brilliant for standard power, and definitly much better than standard, deals on ebay sometimes for discs, definitly worth the hassle id say to fit the above 172 package though
