surely can do better? or does age not count for much, i'm 450 on the turbo at 26 with all mods, like for like, agreed value etc etc, although the insurance market is pants at the minute, everything in motoring is getting stupidly expensive, tax, petrol has crept up again to nearly 120p a litre ffs!!!!

Who with Bennyboy? Age seems to make no difference at a certain point, though women over 60 (I think) have higher premiums than men of the same age (payback for young women having it easy!!) due to very high accident claims generally.

HIC wont insure direct, only through a brokers, tried loads of times

Dan mate thats also through flux, same as my william policy which is £500 with 2 years ncb instead of 6 years on the turbo

Yea see, its the NCB that's kicking my arse. I could probably haggle them down a bit, we shall see.

I declared all mods...did you state your bhp? I stated about 200 to 210bhp.

I renewed mine in feb through Chris Knott as I wanted to get away from flux as they're pretty wank tbh these days, age 27, 3 years ncb, all mods declared & covered like for like, SDP&C, 10k mileage per year, agreed value, fully comp for £419

That was also with a declared bhp & after the recent performance on the rollers I'm tempted to ask for a discount

3 companies I'd recommend trying are Chris Knott & Sky Insurance - both are on CS with club discount, sky insurance also offer club discount on c16v  - and Brentacre are very good

They all offer like for like cover on mods & the differences in quotes I got from all of them were only a few quid. I went with Chris Knott they weren't the cheapest but they were the cheapest overall as I was paying monthly

Yea. Is cheap. Trouble is Ben and I have some pretty big fat mods on our cars and in my case I have less NCB due to not driving for some time previously.

Wobba

£4k is way to high. I can insure a 5 million pound yacht for that.

I was paying £2k for my Scooby and roughly another £1400 for my R5 GTT at the same time about 21 yrs old. Had more money than sense back then.
