There's an articlel celebrating the 20th aniversary of the Clio and comparing the four hottest Clio's.

No.001 is shown in the rain (I'd dnot have been happy about that if it were mine!) and they complain about the un-assisted steering! Err, hello, the PAS on my No.41 works fine!!

Then the bafoons vote the 200 Cup as being the best ever Clio.

Oh dear. I bet all the knobs over on CockSport are playing with themselves by now...

Have you driven any other clio's? The 200 is a pretty good car and the 197 and the 172/182 and the trophy. Id personally say from my experience that the trophy is one of the best clio's.

driven a 172 and cup version and a 197, dont get me wrong for performance and handling very little in it imo, but i just don't like them as much as a mk1, seemples

This is Williamsclio.co.uk Of course the Willy is the best :)

If you want different subjective opinions just visit 172clio.co.uk or 182Trophy.co.uk etc :D

0001 isn't the best example to use imo, I read a group test a while ago, I think in CAR and it got slated due to the original tyres and problems with the suspension which I assume has seized over the years it was kept in storage.

They should use a more 'used' Williams, maybe one which has recently been restored to factory standard for a fairer test.

Sadly there will never be a fair test including a williams, 0001 is always the one they pedal out and its just not 100% anymore!

they free up anyway, 145000 is the idea mileage for a williams.......................... :P

Maybe they'd like to test mine...I could put it back to standard ride height and pretend its a normal engine :D

Not got room for another one...although I'd make room for 0001 of course!

Nah, just curious...

Whether true or not, a 1994 clio got beaten by a clio made 16 years later - that's not too shabby. Will it take another 16 years for the 200 Cup before it gets bested?

0001 is now owned by the Reanult UK press office - not sure where they store it though...

It was sold off by the Williams F1 team a few years ago as part of a job lot including a number of F1 chassis - the collector then sold it back to Renault UK.

After the poor write up in Car magazine last year there was supposidly something wrong with the geometry which was sorted. Would be interesting to drive it back-to-back with a fully restored example with newer parts and tyres.

It would be great to drive a mint normal Williams for all of 5 minutes, then I'd get bored and want mine back.

I do like full OE-spec, but it just feels so tame having driven bonkers-spec cars over the years.

I'd love a drive of a standard Williams, it would be a very different experience to mine I'd guess, more usable and slower! lol

Hate that guy in the videos reviews of the cars. I have to say that for a hot hatch the low down torque of the clio is one of its strong points which is totally contradictory to what he said. Try driving a 2L honda or that.. nothing until 6k rpm. What more can i say the guy is a twat.

And he said that they 'only built 500' Willy 1's.

Do your homework little boy....

Thinking about it, this article doesn't make much sense. Didn't the magazine rate the williams best hot hatch of all time recently and I think they placed the 200 cup 3rd. It is not very consistent!
