In the hands of my mother and now it wont start.

Apparently the starter motor is turning, but the engine 'wont catch on' (her words not mine). I've not seen it yet.

It was left over night on a slight forward facing slope, with just over 1/8th of a tank in it.

Can anyone offer any suggestion as to what the cause of it not starting might be based on my exceptionally vague description.

That was my first thought, but if the imboliser is engaged the starter doesnt turn.

I'll put £1 on a flat battery. She maybe left the lights on, interior light....or something.

She could mean the starter is turning but not engaging the flywheel. starter solenoid fault.

Gonna make a recovery call out and have a man look at it. I would greatly prefer if it is something simple.

Turns out it was flooded.

Think it was more the call-out charge.

Exactly that. I was 10 miles from the car.

Its done now, and I have home recovery added to my policy in case i need it again.
