I sometimes forget but am reminded again.
My retired clio williams was out on its regular warm-up run yesterday. Worn tyres, vague brakes, tired joints, creaky everywhere etc. Into familiar corners - I back down to 80% of my old maximum speeds to avoid becoming a pile of broken metal on the side of the road. But turning-in, once the outside suspensions get loaded, it is rock sold stable and positively boring to steer through. Goes without saying, I get carried away and mid-corner accelerate out of every darn thing! :P No fuus, no muss, just blinding exit speeds everywhere :)
Done over 150k miles of hooning about, daily commute, school runs etc. Yet it drinks like an automatic Corolla and with so little money spent over the years to keep it running sweetly. It's certainly not the greatest car in the world, but for me, I know I won't own one better in my lifetime. 8)
