I used to have access to a four post ramp at weekends, unfortunately those days are gone now.

So I have never needed to put the car up on four axel stands to work on it, what is the best way to do this in an enclosed space like a garage putting the least strain on the sills etc, is it best to do one side then the other or front to rear, any advice on this and where to place the axel stands is appreciated.

for the rear ,the best place is the rear trailing arms .
for the front i use the box sections rather than the jacking points
on the sills . use of a long (7-8" ) wooden block on the axle
stand will also avoid damage and spread the load further .

i jack the car up on the front jacking point, then get a axle stand on the chassis rail then one one the rear axle. Job done.

What work are you doing ?
