Are these better than the std steel purely because they wont rust? Is that only advantage of having them?

better than steel as they don't rust..dissipate heat better and are easier to fit than steel pipes..

Ive decided to do it anyway. Its cheap enough too, copper piping from tweeks or ebay isnt expensive at all. Result.

any local motor factors will do roll's of it for next to nothing, only cost me a few quid last time iirc
