Indicating left, when I depress brake pedal the indicators go bezerk.

Relay? Short circuit? Blow bulb?

Helps. I suck with electrical stuff.

Just gonna pop out and confirm its not a bulb...I will assume it's the relay. I did have a spare but I cant find it. Anyone have part number?

if its when you brake and indicate then have a look at your rear cluster and earth for that side, wedge the brake pedal down and stick indicator on and see if the brake light is also having a fit lol

It'll be bad/dirty/corroded connection in the cluster or connecting block Wobba

Ok thanks, it seems to only happen with sidelight or full lights on.

Started car this morning, not switched any lights on, but the brake lights and reverse lights were both dimly lit. Wiggled some wires about and it went back to normal...indicators still fubar though!

A previous owner had installed a tow bar, rewired the rear lights to accommodate it. I think this may be due to bad wiring from that. Will give it all a go over this evening.

What is the black box on the rear right hand side that looks like a diagnostics port?

Ok just had a quick fiddle, loads of redundant wiring there from the person who put the tow bar wiring on...and it's a mess. Going to chop it all off and rewire a part for a light cluster loom off another car. One of the connectors on the plug looks to be in a bad way as well judging from the melted plastic and burn marks lol.

I've got it working as intended by jury-rigging it, which will do till the weekend :)

If my car ever towed a fookin shite caravan I'd be less than happy!

When I got the towbar off I saved masses of weight, it was really heavy.

Reminds me of a guy i saw down devon,he,d just come back from the black forest germany.........he had been to the Eagles nest towing a 22ft van with oak drawers inside, weight must have been horendous.

He towed it with a short wheel base series 2 landrover........balls of steel come to mind
