if i drain it how much oil will it take? not changing the filter

yes it is if you took the first measurement not long after
turning the engine off :lol:

no seriously i checked level the other day and it did this but the engine was warm so just tried again as the car has been off all day and its doing the same thing.
is it 6.3l of oil the f7r takes?

I think full up (with oil filter filled) should be about 5.5 to 6 litres.

I take it you are taking the dipstick out, wiping the length of it, replacing it and them removing it again and taking the level?

That first picture looks like you've just taken the dipstick out after the engine has been running, be it 2 hours ago or 24 hours ago

been though this thats wiping and removing the dipstick standing on level ground etc..

that either side removed at the same time....very odd..

i never seen that done..lol..

best to drain and refill

well i dont know! the car was off for 24 hours!
drained and refilled with 5w40...still doing the same thing.

What colour is the end of the stick? Should be yellow with a blue dot iirc. If not maybe it's too long! I have a spare dipstick rolling around in the back of my Williams at work with me. maybe I can measure it :)

I'd go with the second reading, the first looks like the dipstick has touched the tube while being pulled out and smeared oil up the stick, I've done the same thing myself in the past
